Portfolio: Tokyo Backstreets

I used to bicycle through the backstreets of Tokyo, paper, paints and brushes stuffed inside my backpack. I searched for treasures hidden away in the oldest areas of the city. The maze of narrow streets in neighborhoods like Nezu, Ebisu, and Nishi Nippori embraced a hodgepodge of old shops, weathered wooden houses, bicycles, lovingly cared-for container gardens; Pepsi signs mixed with Japanese script.
